Chess Ladder & Tournament
While putting together this site, I have come across many chess clubs that maintain Chess Ladders. It is a old concept that is often used in Europe and provides excitement around the club. Since I am taking up the mantle of chess co-promoter of the Delmar Loop Chess Club, a ladder challenge system should be instituted.
To first start it off, I would like to hold a few games over ICC to qualify people and place them on the list. This will have the added benefit of drawing players to ICC.
I am open to suggestions and comments. Here are the rules I propose: Game in 60 or Game in 25 as agreed upon by the two participants; Higher ladder players must accept all challenges, but can only be challenged 2 times per 20 days; Colors are assigned at random; Anyone can challenge anyone, but players who challenge and lose may not re-challenge the same player within 30 days; A miniature trophy be awarded to the top rung player to be passed on to succeeding challengers.Please email me with suggestions if you have any. I will be trying organizing the first ladder tournament soon.

This is an old story worth repeating. Washington University Economics Professors, John Nye and Charles Moul, have authored a paper which examined the claims that the Soviets cheated during important matches. Wash U paper focuses on Loop Chess
Recently, I came across this article dating back to 2005. It focuses on Loop Chess as art.
I would say that the entertainment value for the people walking by would be greater if we had a focused area. Being at the Bread Co. doesn’t help the walk by effect. Only in the Summer is this really apparent.

Team Loop Dominates GM
Alex Marler of Team Loop recently played this game on the Internet Chess Club. Not the best game of all time, but a victory regardless. Enjoy!

Chess, Chess and more Chess
Hello everybody! This site should serve a couple of purposes. First, as a member of the next generation, I would like to continue to see good chess in Saint Louis, Missouri. That means that there should be easily accessible news and notes for all events in Saint Louis concerning chess. I was thinking of creating a site for listings of all chess clubs across the nation but I decided that I really should focus on Saint Louis to enhance what we already have. Second, I would like this as a conversational hub for players around Saint Louis to come and discuss chess. Third, I would like a place to join together all the other chess blogs, boards, and blah in one place. I hope I can make this a reality.
